"Voyage"

"I traveled through the south of Morocco mostly off road: from the beauty and chaos of Marrakech, to the silence and mystery of the Sahara Desert.
Mountains, clouds, rocks, flowers, sand, textures, shapes, colors, scents, flavors, sounds, children, all living in peaceful harmony, all united by beauty and light, all bathing in the most perplexing but yet appeasing simplicity.
From such simplicity, one discovers the true meaning of unconditional happiness.
All I had to do was to accept the greeting, bring my right hand to my heart, and while slightly bowing, shake hands.

As I opened my eyes heart and soul, I started the "Voyage”.
Everywhere I turned there was a photograph, a story, and each one ending in:

They lived happily ever after".

En Route

This photo adventure travels through some of the most beautiful, spectacular and luminous landscapes on the planet. Throughout history, painters, cinematographers and photographers have described Morocco's light and luminosity as being unique as well as the most beautiful in the world. They were right. En route from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert all the way to the Atlantic coast home of the historical port of Essaouira, we will travel through the windy roads of the Atlas Mountains, the dusty and famous Paris-Dakar trails, stopping at will to appreciate and photograph every detail of this journey.

Our cultural guides and patient drivers are experienced with photographers. Although we follow an itinerary, they know me well enough by now to understand that I can ask them to stop or change direction at any time. I can name you all the towns and villages that we will cross, but that will not do justice to this adventure. Every time you travel across southern Morocco with a camera in your hand, your heart and your soul are invited to a feast of colors, light and shadows. You discover towns, villages, people, Nomads, plants, objects, and landscapes never imagined before. I will guide you through a very intense cultural and creative journey. The Morocco photo expedition is almost impossible to put into words, one has to live it.

Morocco Photo Tour Details

This is an intensive adventure designed for the passionate of cultural travel and photography.

The photo workshop allows a maximum of 12 participants.

A typical day starts with a good breakfast. We usually take the road between 8 and 8:30. We stop at will and shoot basically until sundown. I will be working next to you and giving advice on light, composition and technique, however the emphasis will be on each individual's creative approach. There is no class type instruction per say. This is about a creative exchange and journey. Lunch breaks usually happen in little villages. We usually take a couple of late mornings to breath. Every night after dinner, there always is an amazing exchange between the photographers and myself. We review our material and discuss all areas in order to improve technically as well as conceptually.

From Desert To Ocean covers about 3,000Km in land. All our traveling is done in very comfortable 4x4 vehicles type Land Cruiser. The South of Morocco is very safe. The Berber people are nice hospitable and honest. They will offer you a glass of mint tea and a warm loaf of Berber bread from the bottom of their heart.
